Abbe May
Abbe May is a multi-award-winning guitarist, singer and songwriter whose fat-fuzz alt-rock and blues have made her one of Australia’s most distinctive live performers. She has more than 40 ARIA, WAM, AIR and AMP nominations and 27 wins, five studio albums to her name, and a sixth and seventh in progress.
Career highlights include touring as Peter Garrett’s hand-picked guitarist in Alter Egos, festival sets at Big Day Out, Meredith and Pyramid, and supports for The Black Keys, Midnight Oil, Neneh Cherry, You Am I and Adalita.
Design Desire and Kiss My Apocalypse earned high rotation on Triple J, her Like A Version of Ginuwine’s Pony is widely regarded as a classic, and her songs have featured in Jägermeister campaigns, HBO’s Entourage and Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake. She performs solo, with her trio and with six-piece blues band The Devil & Abbe May.
