TEN YEARS OF TUNES UNDER THE TREES & STARS

Bring the kids, bring grandma and Uncle Kev, bring John and Ruth, and Jenny and Bill, bring Jemma and Andy, and Gus and Ezra, bring Gus and Torres, Ben and Ash, Marie and Tim, don't forget Ion and Louise, Wazza and Bob,  Clare and Kim, Arusha and thingy-me-bob, bring Elly and Pete, Paul and Maddie, Vanny and Evan,  Josh and Pearl, Jeremy and Anna, Louis and Lisa, and don't forget to bring Barbara!!!

Bring your whole crazy crew, throw a rug on the ground, sit your butt on a cushion and enjoy a great day of music, food, groovy stalls, and really really (and one more really) good vibes.

What is the festival for and who organises it?

Day in the Forrest is a free community festival. It is a not-for-profit event. DITF is the brain-child of one man with a passion for music and community. Ben Smeeton (Self Sewn Events) and a group of friends held the first festival in 2015 at the Glen Forrest Sports Club, with no funding and very little sponsorship. It was a resounding success.

As the festival grew, the location moved to the Glen Forrest Train Park. Now in its 9th year, the Day in the Forrest Festival has morphed into a happy community festival. A delight for the very young and oldies alike, DITF is now organised by volunteer committee members and community vollies with the support of Lotterywest, a grant from the Shire of Mundaring, assistance from Bendigo Bank Mundaring Branch, and a bunch of great sponsors (see them in the footer)

What food and drink options will be available?

The bar will be serving beer, cider and wine and will be set under some tall shady trees directly in front of the grand Quenda Stage so you won't miss any of the live music. We will have some quality food trucks rolling up the hill to serve all you hungry festival goers throughout the day!

There will be something for everyone’s taste. Superb multi-cultural cuisine, caffeine how you like it, or tasty festival faves. You will be fed and watered and vegans and vegetarians, we've got your backs!

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is a licensed bar at the event. All alcohol must be consumed within the designated bar area.

Can I bring my own alcohol and food? What about soft drinks?

You can certainly bring your own food and non alcoholic drinks and picnic with your family in the park. There is quite a lot of available seating, but do bring a lightweight picnic rug just in case.

You may not bring any alcohol into the event. There is a bar onsite, and all alcohol must be consumed within the designated bar area.

PLEASE NOTE: It is a criminal offence to consume alcohol at the Festival outside of the designated Bar Zone.

What about parking? Is there public transport to the event?

There is parking around the park, with limited off street parking. There is public transport, with the following buses picking up and dropping off just 50 metres from the event.

Catch the 321 or 322 bus from Midland Station. A bus leaves Midland Station every hour on the hour. The bus departing at 1.45pm should get you to the festival at 2.05pm. Get off the bus in Burkinshaw Road at the bus stop between Harold Street and Railway Parade. This places you right where the Festival is being held. Ask the driver to drop you there if you are not sure.
